The Approach
We are at a time of crisis now. There has begun a battle for the future of America. At issue are fundamental rights and interests of the American People. The battle lines are drawn along two axes: the role of government and our economic system. What approach will produce the best America for the next generation? There are those who believe it is the government’s right and duty to impose itself into all aspects of the lives of its citizens: it will protect and support all its people from cradle to grave, it will participate in the management of its businesses, and it will determine how the wealth of the country is distributed. On the other hand, there are those  who believe in individual responsibility and free market economics. They believe the role of government is far more limited. The government should support business and promote growth – not seek to manage and control core industries.

Similarly, there are those in America today who have lost faith in our capitalist heritage and would now have us embrace an economic system more like those in the social democracies of Europe. They would set barriers to the creation of wealth. Other Americans have maintained their belief in capitalism and wish to remain unfettered in their individual and family pursuits of the American Dream.  Many Americans find themselves somewhere in the middle of these two sets of positions.

The purpose of the GoAmericaProject is to participate in the battle for the economic future of our country.  We will line up on the side of aggressive support for our capitalist system, but we will be mindful that capitalism requires intelligent regulation and nurturing and support for small and growing enterprises. We believe that this represents the will of the vast majority of Americans:  Americans who will find at GoAmericaProject.org a place that will inform them and represent them so that their voices will be heard and their votes counted.

The GoAmericaProject is intended to promote and support a grass roots movement in support of the principles and values that will drive economic growth for the next generation of Americans. We will promote actions that push for more and better employment opportunities and facilitate the creation of wealth at all levels of the economic spectrum. Our messaging and proposals are designed to be meaningful and accessible to millions of people, not just the far more limited number that actively engage in the political environment.

As we seek to effectively communicate to millions of Americans, we believe we need to rigorously adhere to a core communication methodology the keys of which are:

• Focus on a limited number of compelling and significant issues;
• Use language that is simple, straightforward, informative and, when possible, fun;
• Strictly adhere to positive messages, no denigrating other points of view;
• Value all contributions in support of the Charter regardless of political positioning;
• Always speak the truth, objectively and completely;
• Articulate positions that make ‘common sense’;
• Facilitate the exercise of the power of the vote.

As we strive to help America go forward, we intend to focus initially on certain key challenges:

• Restoring the economic vitality of our country;
• Growing the number and improving the quality of jobs;
• Gaining support from our political leaders.

To successfully address those key challenges, we intend to adopt a very business-like approach.

• We will begin with an emphasis on supporting, growing and empowering Small Business:
• We will develop, monitor and promote a political agenda for Small Business;
• We will organize an Army of Small Business to fight for issues that are important;
• We will create a site where new Small Business can come and announce themselves and describe their business and where they are located;
• We will provide a site where successful Small Business can tell their story.
• We will build a resource directory and information site to help Small Business start-ups.
